TIA...This is Alaska

After getting married this past July, we celebrated our honeymoon on a beautiful cruise amidst the breathtaking scenery of Alaska. Having always been a Caribbean junky, I was a bit skeptical about this trip at first. But, boy was I wrong! It was every bit as serene and beautiful as the pictures look and more!

Our trip started out of Vancouver, B.C. (beautiful city) and went all the way up to Whittier, Alaska, stopping in a number of different towns along the way. These stops in Alaska were my favorite part of the trip, as you're able to pick different land excursions based on your interests. We are pretty active and like the outdoors, so we did some kayaking and whale watching, as well as probably my favorite excursion...meeting the Iditarod dog sled teams. These dogs are amazing! They are so well behaved and friendly.

Once you are back on the ship, the "ahh" inspiring moments keep on coming! From almost anywhere on the ship you can look out at the most remarkable landscape of ocean and forest. Nature is at its peak, with bald eagles soaring above you and whales, otters and sea lions foraging for food right a next to the boat. It feels surreal.

The point is....if you haven't gone....Go!!!

Helle Danielle,
Are these some of your pictures, will you post some of your pictures?
I too had thought I would always go on a warm vacation (rather than cold) but I have heard much about Alaska. A couple years ago, before I started the insanity of an accelerated grad program, I had done some research on Alaska Cruises. At that time, there was a fairly lengthy waiting list and you had to commit as much as a year in advance and more because they were booked. I will take a look now and see if that has changes.

Your layout is very pleasant to the eye and easy to read. I agree with Saurabh that your font and colors coordinates with your theme and pictures.

Very nice,
JMalliet

Hi Danielle,

I continue to think about how small the world really is when I think about things people actually have in common. You have touched on two themes close to my heart - TRAVEL and ALASKA I was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1963. Unfortunately, we have never made it one of our travel destinations but it has been on our list for a very very long time.

I enjoyed your pictures and the theme. I also liked the ease of linking to the Princess Cruise lines through the photograph. You made my visit to your blog a very pleasant social networking experience.
